Skillet Apple Cider Cobbler
Not all apple cobbler recipes are created equal. Skillet Apple Cider Cobbler is a sweet and spicy apple cobbler that is made first on your stove and then in your oven. After all, everything is better when made in a skillet. Tender apples swim in a reduced spiced apple cider mixture and are topped with flaky, pumpkin-spiced Bisquick biscuits. The only ingredient that could make this apple cobbler better is ice cream, so be sure to serve this treat a la mode.

What does the pepper do for this recipe? I know it says that it is optional, but my grandpa said that about sliced cheese on apple pie. There is no option when you try it because you will always want it that way from there on out. I know I still eat apple pie with either American or Cheddar cheese now every time I make one.
