However, when you're short on time, ingredients, or energy, a short-cut recipe like this one can taste just as good. Sweet pie filling and soft, "just add water" pie dough are a match made in heaven.

Do you have a good link for this recipe? I love to try all kinds of pie recipes to see which ones my hubby likes. He is more of a pie person than a cake man, so I am always looking for something new. This pie sounds like it would be amazing to make and see what he thinks about it. Could you check the link and post one that works, please?

Our fresh fruit season is so short here and I have made many pies and cobblers using canned fruits such as canned peaches. I can never tell the difference and neither can my guests. Another added plus is you do not have all of the peeling and slicing that goes into pie making. I made this using canned sliced peaches and my favorite pie spice, (pumpkijn pie spices) and brown sugar to sweeten. As usual it is a winner.
