- 1 cup granulated sugar
- pinch of sea salt
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1 pie shell, fresh or frozen
- whipped cream for garnish
- 2 tablespoons milk to brush the unbaked pie crust rim

Do you always use white sugar in this recipe, or have you tried light brown sugar? I was wondering if the brown sugar made it more of a caramel flavor when baked or if it just added a bitter note to the recipe. I think brown sugar and pumpkin would pair well together.
