My grandma used to love to make fresh rhubarb pie with the fruit she grew right in the yard. We would harvest it for her and bring her the knife and all her stuff like ziploc bags and she would peel and chop until it was all packaged. Some of the fresh rhubarb always went in a pie or a cobbler or both though. She was always making a sweet dessert.
