In fact, this recipe is more of a strawberry shortcake cake. Layers of spongecake surround billowy whipped cream and fresh strawberries. You can either frost it all over with whipped cream frosting or just frost the top. No matter how much frosting you use, you're going to love this cake no matter what.

Either those cakes are tiny, or those are the biggest strawberries I have seen in my life! This recipe looks amazing. It is very similar to the way I make strawberry shortcakes. I usually just use whipped cream as is. I never thought about making a whipped cream frosting. I will have to try this. Thanks for sharing!
