Hand-Me-Down Alabama Lane Cake
Hand-Me-Down Alabama Lane Cake is one of grandma's delicious secrets. This is one of the best Southern dessert recipes because it's a classic cake recipe that, until now, has been a secret family recipe. Layers of the moistest white cake you've ever tasted are separated by gooey coconut and nut layers and then topped with sweet maraschino cherries. Paying careful attention to not over-baking the cake is the key to making this dessert as delicious as can be. Make this cake once and you won't be able to wait to make it again.

Oh my- what a great story with the history behind this Hand-Me-Down Alabama Lane Cake recipe. It has a unique mixing system like none I have ever heard of for cakes. My Grand mother called it "rubbing the butter into the flour", when she made pies. But for cakes?? I am so going to try this for it's very intriguing to me to see just how it turns out. I'm a retired pastry chef and never heard of this method for cakes.. This is a must try for me.. Thank you so much for this free recipe.

I can imagine the taste of nuts and coconuts with every bite of this cake topped with Maraschino cherries. The cherries can be substituted with other exotic fruits such as mango, or kiwi. Peaches would also be perfect as topping. Here's the link to the recipe http//www.momlovesbaking.com/alabama-lane-cake/
