This cinnamon apple and butterscotch cake sounds too good to be true and to be guilt free, I cant believe it. It looks like a really nice moist cake too, perfect with a cup of tea or coffee on a winters afternoon. A feel good treat but without the sin the feel good treats usually come with.

Is the whey protein something that is essential to this recipe, or can I switch it out for something else? It just isn't something I would use. I do not have any other recipe that calls for the ingredient. I try to keep recipes on hand that go with what I normally buy in the store, so little goes to waste.
