"This amazing poached pears dessert has some Asian influence though rooted in French cuisine. The use of the five spice mix enhances the flavor. They include my some of my favorite spices, star anise and cinnamon which bring out the flavor of the pear. I love this version of poached pears since it doesn’t contain alcohol. But if you like you can always add the poaching syrup to some vodka or rum for that extra kick!"
