Emerson Creek Pottery
Emerson Creek Pottery was founded in 1977 by Priscilla Palmer and Jim Leavitt. Located near the Blue Ridge Mountains in Bedford, Virginia, Emerson Creek Pottery uses clay from the foothills of the mountains to create their beautiful handcrafted ceramic pieces. Each one of these pieces is then carefully hand painted and then fired in a gas kiln. All of the patterns and designs are applied to the pieces with carefully planned strokes, all from memory. The artists don't use stencils or templates to create these beautiful ceramics, giving each of the pieces their own individual charm. All of Emerson Creek Pottery's pieces are lead and cadmium-free, as well as microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe, which makes them safe for use when baking, cooking, and eating.
