Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate

"Is there anything more comforting than a mug of hot chocolate on a cold day? Ok, maybe a gooey chocolate chip cookie that’s still warm from the oven. Or perhaps a warm slice of homemade bread topped with salted butter. But in general, a mug of hot chocolate ranks pretty high up on the list! Well, I see your hot chocolate, and I raise you a Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate. Yup, hot chocolate…in a slow cooker. In addition to the simplicity of this recipe, you can take this one up a notch and turn it into a Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate bar. Set out a bunch of mugs next to the slow cooker. Then lay out all sorts of fun toppings. Marshmallows are an obvious choice. But what about some crushed up peppermints or candy canes? Or maybe some toffee bits – like the ones you find in the baking aisle? A Toffee Hot Chocolate sounds pretty darn awesome! Maybe a shaker of cinnamon sugar? Oh, and what about a bit of Bailey’s or Kahlua for the adults in the room? It is the holidays after all!"
