Ingredients

  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 cup butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup walnuts (chopped)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 3 tablespoons confection sugar
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.

  2. Lightly butter a 9-inch cake pan.

  3. At the bottom of the cake pan, mix the lemon juice, lemon zest, and maple syrup.

  4. In a bowl, cream the butter with the sugar.
