Does it matter what temperature water you use to make this recipe? I haven't made rock candy in years, so I can't remember any tricks of tips, but I know there was something my mom always said about the water. I will have to ask her if she remembers what it was.

I made this Old Fashioned Cinnamon Rock Candy last year. It is a good recipe and does make a lot of candy. After reading the written directions is see it doesn't tell you to stir the sugar mixture until it reaches the hard boiling point. The recipe I have does have you doing that, for sugar can burn easy. We call this Glass candy and my Grandma has made it for years. My Grand kids love it as much as I did. If cinnamon is not for you, change the flavor to a oil that your family likes, such as vanilla, orange, lemon and root beer, the cake decorating store sells so many flavor oils that the ideas are endless.. What is your favorite flavor? Thank you so much for sharing this great free recipe.
