AMERICAN HERITAGE Chocolate is more than your average chocolate bar, this dark chocolate is developed by historians to taste like the chocolate developed in 18th century America. It is rich, but also incorporates hints of other spices and citrus. It is great for baking, making into hot chocolate, and snacking!
The flavor profile of this chocolate is truly unlike anything I have ever tasted. Long ago, this chocolate would have been considered traditional, though! Cinnamon, anise, nutmeg, and even red pepper are incoporated into the dark chocolate to create the dynamic taste. The 57% cocoa is always Rain Forest Alliance Certified.
They make a few different products with the dark chocolate. The Finely Grated Chocolate is perfect for baking because it melts smoothly and can be measured into a recipe similarly to cocoa powder. They also produce the chocolate in large Tablet Bars, and smaller Tasting Squares. The latter, at just .42 oz is particularly great for satisfying a sweet craving, while the tablet bars, at 1.27 oz, are also great for baking and using in cooking.
This tasty and historical chocolate is great on its own or incorporated into a range of recipes. I think it works well for dipping fruit, and using for fondue. It also works nicely to elevate the regular brownie or cookie recipe.
